Andy Barnes - Web Development

My Work

Picture of Andy

Following a long career in the IT industry I moved to Devon, where I now work creating custom-built web-sites.

In the past I have worked for a number of major UK companies such as the Natwest Bank group and Norwich Union (now Aviva), where I have held a wide range of system development posts, including operator, programmer, system designer, data analyst, database designer, requirements analyst, business analyst and project manager.

These days I like to work for smaller organizations or individuals, offering a personal service. I enjoy working with people whose own work I can appreciate and take pride in supporting - so my client list includes craftsmen, artists, musicians, healers, local charities and the like.

I see my role as helping the customer promote their own activities through the web as successfully as possible - whilst always seeking to keep the costs down.  I aim to do this by listening carefully to the customer in order to understand their real needs - I offer no 'one-size-fits-all' solution.

To find out more about how this can be done have a look at the 'My Approach' page.
